Editorial summary

The previous pilot offered eligible SMEs in food and beverage, retail, tourism and personal services 1:1 matching support of up to HK$50,000 for approved off-the-shelf digital solutions. The Government is preparing an enhanced round with AI and cybersecurity under consideration and an expected additional allocation of HK$300 million.

What the previous pilot covered

The earlier programme used pre-assessed packages for digital payment and shopfront sales, online promotion, and customer management. Eligible SMEs generally contributed half the cost and received support up to HK$50,000 for one approved solution.

What has been announced for 2026

Government statements in February and July 2026 said the enhanced round was targeted for the second half of 2026. AI and cybersecurity solutions, wider sector coverage and a further HK$300 million allocation were under consideration. These are policy intentions until the final application documents are issued.

Prepare the business case, not a supplier order

Record the current process, monthly cost, error rate and staff time before choosing a package. That allows the company to compare approved solutions quickly when the new round opens without committing to a supplier too early.
