Working guide

Technology funding application-readiness checklist

The best time to organise evidence is before a programme deadline creates pressure.

Commercial and technical cases

Name the user, current workaround and cost of the problem. Distinguish polite interest from a purchase commitment. State what already works, what remains uncertain and how the project will test it.

Keep architecture notes, test results, data rights and intellectual-property ownership available. Explain dependencies where a supplier owns a core component.

Budget and governance

Separate payroll, equipment, external services, marketing and normal overhead. Collect comparable quotations where required and assign one person to milestones, evidence and correspondence.
